Suzanne M. Wright

Suzanne Wright is a sculptor inspired by all things avian who hopes in some small way to honor the beauty that God alone created. So, bird lovers of the world, this artwork is for you.

She uses the media of clay and bronze in her work, and each piece is handcrafted and one-of-a-kind. Her ceramic pieces range from traditional glazing and firing techniques to the nontraditional encaustic wax over clay. Her bronze work may be a traditional patina or hand-painted with acrylics. Unless you know your birds, you might not realize which part of a bird inspired each piece. See if you can figure them out! Her southern Indiana childhood spent roaming the fields and woods around her home fuels her inspiration. It took her until age 40 (one is never too old to change careers) to act on the question in her mind, "I wonder if I can learn to draw?" The answer was yes... Her sculpture adventure began several years later when she took a sculpture class using clay as the medium. It was love at first pot, and her life has never been the same. Check out her work to see if you can say, "I can't live without it!"
